Losing fat and getting healthy doesn't have to be complicated. Who has time to measure out every serving of food or count every calorie? With that in mind, here are some simple tips to help you lose fat and keep your sanity intact!

1. Buy Healthy Food with Little Effort

Stick to the outer ring of the store, because that is where the real, non-processed foods such as fresh produce, lean protein, eggs, low-fat dairy, and nuts are located. Stay away from the inner aisles, and you will almost certainly walk away with a cart of healthier food!

2. Reduce How Much You Eat without Thinking

One easy trick is to use smaller plates. The size of dinner plates has increased over the last few decades, and that has led to, you guessed it, more food than we ever used to eat being presented to us. Try using salad plates instead of dinner plates to help reduce the amount of food you consume.

Another trick is to try intermittent fasting. Not only does it turn on the fat-burning furnace, but it may also have other benefits such as reducing cancer risk and lowering your diabetes risk. 3. Use the 80/20 Rule, Because No One Is Perfect

There are times when with even the best of intentions, we eat something that's not considered healthy. Is it the end of the world? No. That's where the 80/20 rule comes in, whereby you should allow yourself the occasional "treat" at least some of the time (20%), but the majority of the time (80%), you eat wholesome, healthy foods. And don't beat yourself up over it! Food is to be enjoyed, not seen as a "bad" thing.
